Biography

Cyril Porter was the winner for Oxford vs. Cambridge in the cross-country match in 1911 and placed second on the track in the 3 miles the following year. At the Stockholm Olympics he as a finalist in the 5K and, as third scoring Briton, won a bronze medal in the 3K team race. He graduated later in 1912 and was ordained that year. In 1922 he became vicar of Ewyas Harold, Herefordshire, and remained there until his retirement.
