Chisela Kanchela swam for Zambia at the 2004 Olympics, placing 57th in the 100 metre breaststroke. After the Olympics he coached and trained swimmers in Tanzania with Seals Swim Club Kampala. He then moved to Dubai where he worked as a coach for Speedo Swim Squads. Seemingly healthy, Kanchela died in November 2016 from diabetic ketoacidosis, although he was not known to be a diabetic prior to that time.
