Biography

Alexis Nihon wrestled as a youth but became much better known later in life for his business acumen in the fields of real estate and private equity, with holdings in both Canada and the Bahamas. He was chairman of the Alexis Nihon Corporation in Montréal, which built the mall and office towers adjacent to Dawson College, and founded the real estate development company Anco Lands in the Bahamas, which contributed substantially to the growth of the Abaco Islands.

Nihon acted as the Québec Co-Chair of the Canadian Forces Liaison Council, as well the Governor of the Canadian Olympic Trust of Canada. He served as a Commander of the Order of Saint John and supported the Saint John Ambulance Foundation, for which he was given a Canadian service medal in 1992 by the Queen of England.
