Biografie

A two-time Olympian, Teseo Taddia made his début at the 1948 Olympic Games in London where he finished seventh with a mark of 51.74 m. Four years later at Helsinki 1952, he finished 10th with a mark of 54.27 m. Unfortunately, Taddia lost some of the best years of his career when it was interrupted by World War II.

One of his great highlights was winning the silver medal at the 1950 European Championships in Bruxelles behind Norwegian Sverre Strandli bettering his other finishes of sixth place (1946) and 10th (1954). A two-time Mediterranean Games champion (1951, 1955), Taddia was a 14-time Italian champion between 1939 and 1956. Ten times he set the national record, his last mark of 59.17 m in Milano on 8 October 1950; his first of 51.96 m in Torino on 20 July 1941.

Personal Best: HT – 59.17 (1950).
