Born in Hawai‘i, Keitani Graham became a Micronesian sports hero, but tragically died very young from a heart attack, shortly after competing in the 2012 Olympics. He grew up on Hawai‘i where he attended Punahou School, and he later went to Holy Cross College, where he competed in track & field athletics as a decathlete. After college Graham taught school at Central Intermediate School on Oahu. He was executive director of Ship/Hoops, a nonprofit organization on Chuuk (in Micronesia) that created educational and sports opportunities for children, and he involved with a group building a school in Chuuk.
