Biografie

Kathleen Shaw was the first winner of the Martineau Cup, for capturing the ladies singles title at the British Figure Skating Championships, in 1927. She finished third the following year, when she lost her title to the Canadian Constance Wilson. Shaw regained the title in 1929 and retained it a year later. Prior to winning her first British title, she finished fourth in the 1925 World Championships, and was the bronze medalist the following year. She was also placed sixth in 1928, and had an eighth place finish at the 1930 European Championships, the first time there had been a separate ladies competition. Shaw did not defend her British tile in March 1931, but was selected to take part in an Olympic trial in October that year, however, she did not get to go to her third Olympics at Lake Placid in 1932.
