Aulis Kallakorpi won his only Finnish Championship medal – a silver – in 1952, and in 1953 he recorded his only win at Lahti. He also finished fourth in the 1953-54 Four Hills Tournament. At the next Four Hills Tournament, in 1954-55, he won the first two parts of the competition in Oberstdorf and Garmisch-Partenkirchen, but then managed only a 22nd place in Innsbruck, ruining his chances to win the tournament, and he had to settle for fourth place. Before the 1956 Olympics, Kallakorpi was second in Oberstdorf and sixth in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, before winning a silver medal behind his teammate Antti Hyvärinen at the Olympic Winter Games. Kallakorpi made his last international appearance at the 1956-57 Four Hills Tournament, where he was second in the first competition at Oberstdorf, but did not perform well in the latter part of tournament.
