The Steering Committee

The SC is responsible for providing input and advice on implementing the Athletes’ Declaration, as well as engaging with Olympic Movement stakeholders to evaluate the Declaration’s impact. This latest phase of the project is looking to champion the implementation, including collating best practices, supporting engagement and developing review methods.
What they say

On his appointment, Tim said: “I am really pleased to be appointed as a member of the Athletes’ Declaration Steering Committee, to work to ensure that all athletes are given the support and protection they deserve. To have the opportunity to share my views and input at this level is a real honour, and is something that I am very much looking forward to.”
Douwe, of the Netherlands, is a long track speed skater who has won several medals at the World Single Distances Championships throughout his career. He is also the speed skating representative and chair of the ISU Athletes’ Commission.

The Athletes’ Declaration
The Athletes’ Declaration covers various topics, including integrity, anti-doping, governance, discrimination and much more, but its main objective is to protect the rights of athletes, with the SC guiding its direction.
