Why I am participating in the elections to the IOC Athletes’ Commission
As an athlete, I had the privilege of competing in the Olympic Games three times and winning seven medals, including five gold. I felt the power of sport and realized that the Olympic movement becomes much stronger when athletes contribute to it.
Over the past 10 years, I have met many of you – out of curiosity and interest in your sports, but above all to communicate with you.
The experience gained inspired me to take part in the elections to the IOC Athletes’ Commission (COP) so that our opinions would not only be heard, but also taken into account.
I am committed to supporting the athletes as Chair of the Constitutional Court of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and a member of the Constitutional Court of the International Biathlon Union to promote and defend the sport I have always played: doping-free sport, in which everyone has a chance and which takes into account environmental issues that are crucial to the future of our winter sports.
If you trust me, I will continue to work with you to promote the change we want.
Enjoy the Games! I look forward to continuing to communicate with you!
