Why I am running in the IOC Athletes’ Commission election
My fellow athletes: If there’s anything that thrills me as much as the joy of competition, it’s the satisfaction that comes with helping other athletes and doing my part to make our voices count.
The strategy proposed by the IOC Athletes’ Commission is an important challenge, and one to which I am eager to contribute. If you choose me to represent you, I will work for fair play, for equal treatment, for making resources and tools available to all athletes, and for the successful development of your sports and professional careers.
I offer you my commitment and experience serving in other players’/athletes’ associations, the NBPA (USA) and the ADESP (Spain). I am absolutely committed to sport, and I stand ready to listen to and work with you to create the proper conditions in which we Olympic athletes can develop around the best possible conditions, always with the ambition of continued improvement.
I am convinced that the three Olympic values – respect, excellence and friendship – can still be reinvigorated, renewed and revered, thus allowing Olympic excellence to endure.
