MARTIN FOURCADE

Why I am running in the IOC Athletes’ Commission election

As an athlete, I have had the honour of taking part in three Olympic Games and winning seven medals, five of them gold. I discovered the power of sport and saw how the Olympic Movement was much stronger when it was supported by the athletes.

Over these past 10 years, I have come to see many of you, out of curiosity and interest in your disciplines, but above all to talk with you.

Based on this experience, I am standing for election to the IOC Athletes’ Commission (AC), so that our voice can be not only heard but also taken into consideration.

I am committed to representing the athletes as Chair of the Paris 2024 Games AC and the International Biathlon Union AC in order to promote and defend sport as I have always practised it: clean sport, which gives everyone a chance and takes into account the environmental issues that are so crucial to the future of our winter sports.

If you place your trust in me, I will continue to work with you to be the catalyst for change that we wish to see.

Enjoy the Games everyone – I look forward to continuing to connect with you!
