Why I am running in the IOC Athletes’ Commission election
Congrats for making it to Tokyo! Make the best of it, have your life-best shape and most of all – enjoy!
And while you do – vote for my candidacy to IOC Athletes’ Commission. Why?
Because I have the experience (NOC & IF Athletes Commission member).
I’m a 3-time Olympian (4 including Tokyo if I’m here).
I’m in the sports business (my family runs a cycling apparel company).
I was on top (World Champion) and at the bottom struggling with injuries or health problems. So I know the feeling and problems of both.
Because I’ve experienced, or was witness to many athletes’ problems: lack of financial support, high sponsor expectations, problems with bringing together a sport career and education, mental issues, harassment, media hate…
And most of all because I get frustrated when athletes are treated as puppets by the sport-business-politics machinery. We – athletes – are the ones who put all our lives and health at stake. Making sacrifices. OUR VOICE is the most important one.
If we can speak, let’s speak! Let me be your voice. And conquer the Tokyo Olympic Games!
Original version: English *Results as of 9 September 2019 and only for disciplines on the Olympic programme
WE ARE THE ONES MAKING THE SHOW, THE ATHLETES’ VOICE IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ONE
