Why I am running in the IOC Athletes’ Commission election
All athletes have a vision. Our vision is what makes us all so uniquely important in the Olympic Movement. As athletes we know how to prepare, perform towards achieving a goal and make our vision a reality. My vision is to help improve all athletes, in all sports, of all abilities to become the best person they can possibly be.
The resources within the Olympic Movement can help an athlete struggling with Mental Health or be used to promote equality and fair play for all. By helping it adapt to changes in governance, changes in technology, economic uncertainty, fair play rules and changes in sport. Promoting changes to serve athletes’ minds, bodies and the pursuit of excellence comes at the top of my agenda. I want to help all athletes share their voice, help athletes get direct funding for sport accomplishments, provide resources for career development outside sport and continue to improve and adapt to a changing economic environment.
Good luck to the athletes competing in Tokyo 2020, please enjoy the moment and then we can all get ready for the next challenge together!
