I WILL ALWAYS PUT THE ATHLETES FIRST AND I WILL ALWAYS TRY TO HELP
Why I am running in the IOC Athletes’ Commission election
I have been a professional athlete for as long as I can remember and in 2021 it was time to end my active career. I have never been a person, who could do only one thing, so during my career I have tried and am still trying to make the world of winter sports, and all sports, better for future generations.
All my career, I have tried to convince the leaders in the world of ski jumping, on a national and international level, that working side by side is the right way. Not only by speaking, but by putting things into practice. We are all in the same boat and we have to think of the future of sport and all the young athletes that are coming. For many years sport has not been just fun and joy, but has been getting more and more professional. Therefore, the stress on all parties involved is getting higher. It is on us to keep sport fun, safe and playful.
Athlete-centred sport is the future in my eyes. By getting a position on the IOC Athletes’ Commission I will have a chance to present my visions and ideas to the world’s top athletes and see if together we can make a difference.
