The IOC is looking for an Olympian to join its team as a security intern to support the chief security officer in developing the Olympic Games security programme.

Starting in April 2022 and based in Lausanne, you’ll receive bespoke career guidance and mentorship to support you to develop your workplace skills and achieve your goals.

The deadline for applications is 31 October. Apply now to avoid missing out.

The opportunity is open exclusively to Olympians, with the IOC eager to harness your unique experience and skill set. It’s a rare chance for you to join an organisation with athletes at its heart and one determined to use sport as a driver for positive social change, while at the same time allowing you to kickstart your career or explore a different profession.

What you need to know

The role begins on 1 April 2022 and will run for 12 months. You’ll be based at the IOC’s headquarters, Olympic House, in Lausanne, Switzerland, on the shores of Lake Geneva. Ideal candidates will have a background in security (police, military, emergency responder, or private security), and a bachelor or equivalent qualification in a related subject area.

Security is a pivotal platform for the success of the Games, ensuring that athletes can focus on performance free from anxiety or stress. You can be a part of building that platform – not only for other athletes but for spectators and fans around the world.

As a security intern, you’ll become a member of the team at the heart of the Olympic Movement, working directly with the chief security officer. You’ll contribute to the work done behind the scenes that enables the Games to take place, and will be supported to achieve your goals in a supportive working environment.

Combining administration and communications, you’ll support the IOC to develop Olympic Games security programmes and related projects. You’ll engage organising committees, National Olympic Committees, International Federations, Worldwide Olympic Partners, broadcasters and other IOC departments to assist with all the IOC’s security-related initiatives and projects.

Make sure to grab this exclusive opportunity and put yourself forward before the application deadline of 31 October. You can view the full job description at the link below.
