السيرة الذاتية

Rachael Gunn, who performs as Raygun, made history as the first Australian B-girl to compete in breaking at the Olympics when the sport made its debut at Paris 2024.

Raygun, at 36, took to the floor at the Place de la Concorde, where she faced fierce competition and despite her best efforts, she did not advance past the group stage.

However, the academic from Sydney said the experience of representing Australia at the Olympics was the realisation of a lifelong dream.

“It was crazy going out there,” she told the Australian Olympic Committee after competing at the Games. “It's the biggest crowd I've ever performed to. We don't have events this big in Australia but I'm hoping Australia gets behind it and we have some bigger events after this.

“It's something that I'll never forget,” said Rachael Gunn, whose nickname Raygun is a blend of her two names.

Born on September 2, 1987, in Hornsby, Rachael Gunn always had a keen interest in dancing and trained in ballroom, tap and jazz styles.
