Born in May 1990, in Palmdale, California, Paul George's early life was steeped in sports. His two older sisters, Teiosha and Portala, had been successful in basketball and volleyball respectively while he idolised Kobe Bryant.
Attending Knight High School in Palmdale, young George excelled in basketball. He led his team to victory in the Golden League championship and was named the league's most valuable player.
Taking his skills to California State University, Fresno, the forward continued to shine on the court. However, he opted to forego his final two college seasons and entered the 2010 NBA draft. The Indiana Pacers picked him 10th overall, marking the beginning of his professional journey.
George shone in his first season and earned a spot on the 2011 NBA All-Rookie 2nd Team. He soon became a cornerstone for the Pacers, propelling them to numerous playoff appearances and securing regular All-Star Game nods.
