Gary Battistella skied for Canada at the 1964 Winter Olympics, competing in the downhill and giant slalom. He later settled in the United States, near Denver, and became a ski coach for a time. Later in life his career was as a Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for New Tech Machinery, a company that specialized in portable roll-forming, especially pre-fabricated gutters. Dying from cancer, he was laid to rest in his beloved Rocky Mountains, above Columbia Lake, next to his parents.
