السيرة الذاتية

Although basketball was her first love, Gale Fitzgerald was a versatile athlete who primarily competed in multi-events. In addition to her two Olympic pentathlon appearances, she won a silver medal in the pentathlon at the 1975 Pan American Games. Fitzgerald was AIAW champion in the 440 yards in 1970, and in 1970-71 ran on four world-record setting 4×440 yard relay teams. She attended Montclair State College and ran for the Atoms Track Club. While training for the 1976 Olympics she obtained a Masters' Degree from Montclair State and spent a year in Texas studying for a Ph.D.

After the 1980 Olympic boycott, Fitzgerald retired from athletics and sold life insurance for 10 years, then turned to investment banking. But after investing other people's money, she decided to invest in her own companies. She worked for Film Star Releasing and then formed Global Media with over $500 million in pre-paid advertising credits that she attracted. She became a movie producer and later was President of Sunset Hill Productions.
