السيرة الذاتية

Primarily known as a relay sprinter, Emmy Albus ran on the winning 4×100 relay team at the 1938 European Championships, along with Käthe Krauß and the non-Olympians Josefine Kohl and Ida Kühnel. Albus placed sixth at the 1938 European Championships in the 100 m. What appeared to be her biggest success was marred by the disqualification of the German 4×100 team at the Berlin Olympics when Marie Dollinger and Ilse Dörffeldt dropped the baton on the final exchange, despite having a big lead. In the heat they had set a world record. Over 100 metres she finished sixth. In 1958, Albus married the sprinter Walter Liersch. She won national championships in 1937 and 1938 in the 4×100, and helped set two relay world records in 1936 at 4×100 m and one in 1938 over 4×200 m.

Personal Best: 100 – 11.9 (1936).
